Tottenham Hotspur could be on the brink of Premier League glory if they re-sign Harry Kane next summer, according to former midfielder David Bentley.

The ex-Spurs man believes the Bayern Munich striker could make a dramatic comeback in 2026 and spark a genuine title challenge.

Kane left north London in 2023 after 19 years at the club, joining Bayern Munich for over £100 million. Since then, the England captain has continued his prolific form, scoring 98 goals in 103 appearances.

With his contract running until 2027, a cut-price exit worth £56.7m could be on the table if he signals his intent to leave before next January.

Bentley backs emotional return

Speaking on Inside Spurs, Bentley called for smart recruitment, including Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, before boldly suggesting Kane could be back in white next summer.

“And maybe Kane comes back next year,” he said, insisting the striker’s return would galvanise the squad.

Spurs’ title ambitions

Bentley tipped Thomas Frank to lead Spurs into silverware contention, claiming the Premier League crown could be within reach by 2026/27.

“Whether to win the league this year, I think next season will be a season that we could win the league,” he said. “If it’s orchestrated well in the transfer windows, you’re going to see Tottenham have a real go at winning the Premier League.”

Kane focused on Bayern

Despite constant speculation linking him back to his boyhood club, Kane has remained coy about a return to the Premier League, stressing that his focus remains on Bayern Munich.
