Doctors Remove 28 Spoons and 19 Toothbrushes from Man Stomach

In a shocking medical case, surgeons in India successfully removed 28 spoons and 19 toothbrushes from a man’s stomach after he complained of severe abdominal pain.

The patient, identified as Sachin, was rushed to Nandini Hospital in Hapur, near New Delhi, where scans revealed the foreign objects lodged inside him. Doctors initially attempted to extract them using endoscopy, but the sheer number made surgery unavoidable.

On September 23rd, a team led by Dr. Shyam Kumar performed a three-hour emergency operation to safely remove the items.

According to reports, Sachin consumed the objects out of frustration during his time at a rehabilitation center, where he was allegedly denied drugs and given small portions of food.

Due to this, he secretly steal utensils, snap them into smaller pieces, and swallow them with water.

Dr Kumar said: “We found two pens, 19 toothbrushes, and 29 spoons during the procedure.

“The patient’s life was saved.”

“This kind of ingestion is not uncommon among patients dealing with mental health challenges.”

He added: “In the entire day, we would be given some vegetables and just a few chapatis.

“If something came from home, more often than not it wouldn’t reach us.

“We would sometimes get one biscuit in a day.”
