Executive. I am Didi-Omah Augustine Chinazaekpere, chief executive at doacweb.com, Africa. An information technology company, many can call it an “info-serve” company; a company that offer information services to the public as business.

Something happened in June, around 26 to 27 June 2025. I was partially kidnapped, but by God intervention, it was a robbery. My laptop, phone, bag, hand towel and everything with me was taken. I do know about “website data backup” but I do not take it serious. Executive. Until that incident happens, I never take backup seriously.

All through my days at the Federal Polytechnic Ekowe, Bayelsa State, learning about computer science and web development. We were taught at various levels about data management and backup. I learnt but never implement — until this incident. It took me six days after the robbery to purchased a new device. And after the purchased, I visited the site, doacWeb, and discovered code corruption.

The code corruption affected the site, that even the frontend and backend cannot be visible and accessible. By users of doacWeb, and webmasters at doacWeb. Executive. Thank God for good knowledge of backup, AI prompting and web development. I prayed, then did serious researches; I was the frontman, ChatGPT and DeepSeek played major roles in getting the code corruption that affected doacWeb out of the site.

Site was not effectively functional, so one of my teammate suggested, we should restore the previous backup. Here is the problem, the previous backup was lasted conducted in November 2024. How possible can we get January to June 2025 contents back? Mission impossible. Then we are in-between losing the site's functionality to the code corruption or restore the last data backup of November 2025.

Executive. I said to my team, if the site crash, we will build another — no matter the time taken, we shall rise up in ten years. So what next? We did the restore backup on doacWeb. So all data of January to June 2025 on doacWeb got lost! The data include: newsletter subscribers, registered users, website analytics data, published contents, networks positive trends, etc., so we are just new from July to date.

I don't really know what happened to Greenbook data loss; but Greenbook.ng, Nigeria's fast growing social media, in August to September 2025 — around some dates like that, but in 2025. The site has some technical issues which led to complete loss of it's data. What just happened to doacWeb. What I learnt from this incident, is always have a plan that covers “Incident Response Management” and regularly conduct “Full data backup”.

doacWeb's incident happened before Greenbook.ng's incident occurred. Let me repeat my lesson; What I learnt from this incident, is always have a plan that covers “Incident Response Management” and regularly conduct “Full data backup”. And my team and I, have taken to note to keep this as part of our business — I learnt these: Incident Response Management and Data backup, from Federal Polytechnic Ekowe, Bayelsa State, Nigeria.

Here is my silly advise, please learn from my mistake. To mismanaged and loss data of a trusted website is a big risk, and it can damage the site's reputation in the eyes of people. Imagine Facebook experience some technical issues or code corruption — then all data got loss. Which is to say, you have to start from scratch from creation of account to account management. What a stress to you and a disaster to Meta Platforms Inc.?

Executive. We are still learning, keep growing and we are back fully effectively. Thanks be to Adonay through Jesus Christ. From August to date, doacWeb is active and effectively functional. Thanks to my magnificent team (doacWeb Team), Truehost Nigeria (Lagos), ChatGPT (artificial intelligence), DeepSeek (artificial intelligence) — we are better than ever.

Funny enough, we still have our trust back, available in 180 territories and countries! Wow. It is wonderful to know. I am happy I created a platform that the world find useful in their daily living. But doacWeb is not the first project I created, I have created many projects, and more are possibly to be develop. Executive. I am a web developer and web manager.

I use Greenbook.ng, it is Nigeria's social media made by a Nigerian, for Nigerians — I do use it, it is more easy to use, understand — I cannot call it Nigeria X (twitter); because Greenbook.ng has it's own identity abd and there is a big difference between it from other social media. Anyone can use it, we all can use it — no stress, it is Greenbook.ng — and you are in!

From all I have said, there are two things to learn. Which are engage effectively into “Incident Response Management” and regularly conduct “Full data backup” — of your online products, web projects, and to others. Executive. Engage effectively into “Incident Response Management” and regularly conduct “Full data backup” — of your online products, web projects, and to others.
