On Tuesday, March 17, 2026; my unique one, Ishola Rukayat Nifemi Arike, left me (Didi-Omah Augustine Chinazaekpere) for death due to a long-term battle against a growth in her body, a liver disease that feed on her blood. She is a Muslim by religion, a Yoruba by tribe, from Iwo in Iwo local government area of Osun State, Nigeria.

I love Ishola Rukayat Nifemi Arike so much that I propose to marry her. She died at 25 years old, that is to say, she is a year older than me. I was not myself from the afternoon, the Spirit told me, she is gone, I silently rebuked death from my house in the morning of that same day till the news broke out. I first got the news from her step younger sister, Ishola Fatia — via her WhatsApp's status. Rukayat died in the hospital, which name is unknown to me, the hospital is located in Rivers State Nigeria.

The lady I cherished, the lady I once kissed and hold on based on love from my heart. The lady I played with, my gossip mate, my trouble playmate, my busybody queen. I so much love you, Ishola Rukayat Nifemi Arike — I always profess my love to her openly, she knows about it. Life bear hard on my chest, it was like a shock in my heart, because I prayed for her, planned to assist in her total recovery. But all was void, I still believe in Jesus Christ, I trust in Him.

She was more than a neighbour, a friend, a wife to be — if her parents permit. She is my bone, my unique one. All is well! All is well! I do believe she was buried on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at her father's compound in Iwo, Iwo local government area of Osun State, Nigeria (just saying). Thanks to Jesus Christ, Glory to Adonay forever! She always said, no matter what happens, life continues....

That word of hers recurred in my mind, and immediately smiled but with heaviness of heart and sorrowful soul. The Lord Jehovah is my joy and strength, indeed no matter what happens, life moves on. We do lost our love ones, and it doesn't mean we are left alone. As the rain falls on every roofs, and the sun shines on everyone — so will pains reach everyone in one way or the other.

Ishola Rukayat Nifemi Arike, what a beautiful lady you are. The lady that loves and cares freely, a lady that smiles and hide pains, what a quick disappearance through death during the Ramadan period of March 2026. Life is short to be keeping enemies, only those that understand that life is not complete without death. Death is not the end of life, but it makes life complete.

Everything that has beginning must have an end. I cannot say so much, because we had long memories, we shared moments, we play like kids, we study together, we take walk together — we are like siblings, like couples, like friends and more than what earth can describe. Our friendship was till death comes between us, I am ready to keep the bond as she is. We quarrel and reconcile within time, we don't let the day end without coming together after a quarrel or misunderstanding.

I know I will die, but want to die after fulfilling my mandate on earth to the glory of Jesus Christ and bring honour to Adonay at last. I want to depart after making impacts, I want to pass away after passing on legacy to the next generation. I want to die in peace and abide in paradise with Jesus Christ in unity and everlasting glory. I don't fear death, after Kingdom Enoch died during our SS 1 at Community Secondary School Rumuekini.

Kingdom Enoch, a very close neighbour and friend to me at that time; we stay in the same compound, we are in the same school, the same class, we share food and notes together — but in SS 1 — he is gone and buried that same day. What a life?

Death is natural to me, and it have no power over me, except God gives it a command to take me. When I feel death, I know someone will die — so when mine will come, by God's mercy I will know. Life is just a smoke from the flame that passing away without a trace. In few months to come, she will be forgotten of the face of the earth.

I have my own life to live, my calling to answer, my destiny to fulfil, my mandate to carry on, my generation to impact. Death is rude but light is forever shining no matter what happens life continues. We should thank God for the people, things and opportunities we have, and hope for better end. While counting on our blessings, never to forget those we lost on the way — in the process of time, in the journey of life.

The great, less, small, big, little, mighty, rich, poor, popular, unpopular; and even Jesus Christ died and rose again — so people from all walks of life, will die and rose on the resurrection day. I believe. I hold strongly to the Christian faith in Christ Jesus. May Ishola Rukayat Nifemi's gentle and lovely soul find mercy in the sight of God, may her gentle and caring soul rest in eternal peace not in hell but in paradise. Amen.
