Dancegod Lloyd reacts to claims he repeats same dance moves

Ghanaian dancer and choreographer Dancegod Lloyd has responded to veteran dancer Slim Buster’s critique, accusing him of repeating the same dance moves during performances.

Speaking on Hitz FM on January 19, 2026, Dancegod Lloyd admitted that criticism is part of the entertainment industry but expressed surprise that the comments came from someone he respects in the industry. “No matter what you do, people will talk… But I also feel that is his point of view,” he said.

Addressing the issue directly, Dancegod Lloyd defended his style, explaining that repeating certain moves is often dictated by the lyrics of the song he is performing to. “There is nothing wrong with repeating the same dance steps. When the artiste is talking about ‘head,’ I don’t know where else I can hold,” he said. Despite his disappointment with Slim Buster’s comments, he stressed that he still respects the veteran dancer but prefers not to engage in further conversation.

Slim Buster had raised the concerns in an October 2025 interview on Joy Prime TV, arguing that dancers in Ghana must diversify to remain relevant. Using Dancegod Lloyd as an example, he said: “Dancegod Lloyd is a beautiful dancer but you can see he keeps repeating the same thing.”
