Death Triangle made their grand debut as a team in CMLL. The Lucha Bros previously wrestled in Arena Mexico during 2018 and 2019. This was the first time for PAC. El Bastardo led Fenix and Pentagon Jr. into action against Mistico, Volador Jr., & Mascara Dorada in the main event of Friday’s show (July 26, 2024).

Death Triangle took the first fall on a frog splash from Fenix and a Brutalizer submission from PAC. The CMLL stars evened the score on a Mexican Destroyer from Volador Jr. and a 450 splash from Mascara Dorada.

During the third fall, the Lucha Bros were in trouble. Fenix and Penta were getting pinned off a head scissors piledriver from Volador Jr. and a shooting star press from Mascara Dorada. PAC made the save by bulldozing the referee. The Bastard didn’t hesitate to kick his opponents in the groin. Bragging rights go to CMLL for the disqualification victory.

The highlight package is blazing.

Backstage, Pentagon reveled in stealing Mistico’s mask. Fenix showed gratitude to CMLL and the fans, but he warned that Mascara Dorada is playing with fire. PAC didn’t hold back on Volador Jr. to call him a piece of shit. He has no problem coming back to do this all over again.

Also on that show, Angel de Oro defeated Star Jr. to win the Leyenda de Plata trophy. The Leyenda de Plata is an annual tournament to honor El Santo. Angel de Oro won the bout with a rocking chair submission.

MJF arrives in Arena Mexico to defend the AEW American Championship on Friday, August 2. CMLL set up a contender match earlier in the week to determine the official challenger. Templario prevailed over Averno, Flip Gordon, Stuka Jr., Valiente, Esfinge, Rugido, and Zandokan Jr. in an elimination contest to earn the opportunity. Templario was the last man standing after pinning Averno on a super powerbomb.

MJF sent a message for his challenger. The champ tooted his own horn and his love of fiestas in Mexico. Arriba! He also loves wrestling luchadores, because it’s easy work against slow, dumb competition.
