Christian just pulled off one of the best crooked ref moves I’ve ever seen

The main event of tonight’s (Aug. 10) episode of Collision was a number one contender’s match for the AEW world trios championship. It was House of Black vs. Bang Bang Gang, with the winning team earning a trios title match against Christian Cage & The Patriarchy on Aug. 25 at AEW’s All In pay-per-view in London’s Wembley Stadium.

Oh, I forgot to mention the part where Christian was somehow appointed as the special referee for this number one contender’s match. Christian is a cowardly slime ball who doesn’t want to defend the trios gold against either team, so of course he decided to screw them both over at the end of tonight’s main event.

Every wrestler was down on the mat late in the match after a thrilling sequence of moves. Christian did what any good ref would do by starting the obligatory 10 count to see if anyone could make it back up to their feet. Just as Buddy Matthews was about to beat the count, well, you can see what Christian did in the following clip:

Spearing his enemy down to the mat and finishing the 10 count so there is no winner might just be one of the best crooked ref moves I’ve ever seen.

The Patriarchy laid waste to both teams after the match was over, and it looked like Christian’s scheme worked as Collision went off the air. But I’ve watched a pro wrestling show or two in my day, so I have a feeling Christian’s antics will backfire when Tony Khan books a three-way match for the AEW world trios championship at Wembley Stadium.
