Chris Robshaw’s wife Camilla goes to extremes to swerve ‘Strictly curse’ ahead of show launch

CHRIS Robshaw’s wife Camilla Kerslake is so desperate to ward off the Strictly curse – she’s already invited his pro-partner to dinner.

Former England rugby star Chris, 39, has been hard at training this week ahead of the launch show this weekend.

And those close to the family say Camilla, 37, who married Chris in 2018, won’t stand for any nonsense on the show.

A source said: “Camilla is a woman’s woman.

“She knows it’s inevitable that sadly, women will be compared, and pitted against each other, and she won’t stand for that.

“She’s always been very vocal about women supporting each other and has already invited Chris’ partner over for dinner.

“She wants to start building a friendship outside of the show in a bid to stop any gossiping around the curse.

“Chris’ partner is totally on board. They have shared common ground and want to make sure they’re a unified group – rather than Camilla being on the outside.

“There are plans to spend time together before the series kicks off, and Camilla is looking forward to getting to know Chris’ partner, beyond the headlines.

“Chris has said he thinks both women will hit it off as mates, and has joked to people close to him that he’s going to be the third wheel.”

The Strictly curse has affected a number of stars over the years.
Since the show first started in 2004, a number of high profile break ups have happened – including Seann Walsh being dumped by his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries after he was caught snogging his pro partner Katya Jones.

Countdown star Rachel Riley also dumped her husband Jamie Gilbert and a year later confirmed she was dating her pro partner Pasha Kovalev, who she married in 2019.

BBC documentary maker Stacey Dooley’s relationship with Sam Tucknott was hit by the curse too – and she ended up starting a relationship with her pro partner Kevin Clifton.

The Sun revealed earlier this year that Chris had signed up to join the BBC dancing show, alongside celebrities including Dani Dyer and Vicky Pattison.

Those close to Chris later revealed his hell at the hands of a stalker who had been targeting him and Camilla since last year.

Camilla later issued a statement and said: “Chris and I are so grateful to the press for handling a very difficult situation with such sensitivity.

“It’s meant we can focus on keeping our little family safe. We’ve truly been overwhelmed by the kindness shown.

“From here, we’re choosing to move forward. This won’t define us and instead, we’ll be focusing on our family and the exciting journey ahead with Strictly.”
