A rupture could wind up costing Williams most of the season.

Tyson Bagent came off the bench looking to lead a victory over the Minnesota Vikings but couldn’t put up any late points in a 9-3 loss.

The defeat comes just a week after a 59-37 domination of the Carolina Panthers with the Bears struggling to get anything going in rainy conditions.

Bagent has proved himself a capable backup but Chicago will need its franchise quarterback on the field soon in a brutal NFC North, which features four potential contenders.

“Can’t wait for next season,” joked Bears beat reporter Pete Martuneac.

Williams took the towel off his head to acknowledge fans but was in clear pain

“We’ll know tomorrow,” head coach Ben Johnson said. “He’s in good spirits. He’s a team player.

“I’m actually happy it’s nothing with the knee — that was my first inclination.

“But, a hamstring could be pretty damaging as well. So, we’ll see. We’ll see how bad it is tomorrow and we’ll go from there.”

Williams was 15-of-26 for 138 yards with an interception and no scores when he went down in the fourth quarter.
