BREAKING: Wole Oke’s Defection Backfires, Aides, Allies Disown Him

This is not the best of times for the federal lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade federal constituency, Hon Wole Oke as his defection to the All Progressive Congress is eliciting rejection from his close circles and constituency.

In the last few days, key aides and allies of the lawmaker have rejected his movement to the APC as a political tragedy with open declaration that the decision marks a Waterloo for the 6th term legislator.

Key allies of Hon Oke at his local government scorned his move as “a decision borne out of greed and selfishness”, describing him as “an ingrate who betrayed a party on whose platform he got married in life as a lawmaker and on whose platform he gained all his material reaches”

His key allies whom he supported into party and government positions have rejected his calls on them to join him to defect to APC.

His key aides have announced their staying back in PDP while severing political links with him.

Reports indicated that Hon Oke has been sending messages offering juicy rewards to his allies who accept to join him but entreaties are being rejected with screenshots of his messages in possession of several state officials.

A close ally of Oke from Esa Oke has this to say: “His decision is evil and anti-people. Having used 6th terms in the house, he should know it is time to move on. We told him this fact several times. It is wickedness of the highest order on his part.

“All what you made in life is from PDP. Is it not the right time to stop being selfish?. Why won’t we allow Oriade to take their space after we have taken six slots? We told him all these.

“But he is Mr know all. Imagine him saying PDP won’t get more than 500 votes. He disparaged Senator Fadahunsi, Baba Faseru and countless leaders. So without him hundreds of our party leaders who made him cannot deliver? That singular statement from him deepened the hatred and the anger of our people against him.

“We will soon start a recall process against him. We will show him he has violated the law by his defection. His resignation letter is before the whole world. He should resign from the House before we recall him.

“PDP is not divided either at state or federal level. So his defection has no basis in law and he therefore ceases to be a member of the House in the eyes of the law. He should surrender our seat to us.

“He should also account for the billions of funds he took on behalf of our constituency in the last 20 years or so. Processes are ongoing to get him to account”, the ally affirmed under anonymity.
