There are strong indications that members of the Ondo State House of Assembly may declare Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the acting governor, today.

This is according to a source in the Assembly, who confirmed that lawmakers will be taking a decision on Governor Akeredolu’s continuous absence due to his ill health on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

This, according to the lawmaker, was part of the agreements reached between them and President Bola Tinubu during their meeting last Friday.

“The House plans to sit on Tuesday and Aiyedatiwa may be declared acting governor during the sitting. This is part of the outcome of the meeting with President Tinubu,” he said.

When contacted on the matter, the Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, said he was at a meeting.
