BREAKING NEWS: YOUR CAREER IS OVER: Pochettino Has instructed Chelsea Star To Pack His Bags And Leave Stamford Bridge after having less touches than the Goal keeper

He won’t be available for the match against Brighton, What a Flop

Chelsea have been warned that Thiago Silva does not have the right support around him despite the club spending over £1billion on new signings in the last 12 months. The Blues have brought in the likes of Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Axel Disasi to bolster the defensive options – along with tying Levi Colwill down to a new long-term contract.

Silva has played every single minute of Premier League action so far this season – proving he is a key player for Mauricio Pochettino this season. However, the Brazil international’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire next summer with talks over a renewal yet to take place.

Todd Boehly has put a key emphasis on signing young, talented players which could pay dividends in the future – but leaves Chelsea lacking experience at the moment. Silva is one of a handful of players with a wealth of experience and at 38 years old, he continues to prove his worth to the club.

After a dismal 2022/23 campaign, the Blues missed out on European football qualification for this season and Silva bemoaned his lack of Champions League football on social media last night. The Brazilian defender took to X – formerly Twitter – to share his disappointment at not playing in the competition as he tagged the official Champions League profile in a post – alongside a crying emoji and pinned that post to his own profile.

Silva’s frustrations are shared by supporters but now former Chelsea star William Gallas believes the veteran defender knows he is playing his final season at Stamford Bridge. “Thiago Silva knows that it is going to be a very difficult season for him,” Gallas told Genting Casino

“He knows that this is his last season, and he doesn’t have the right support around him. A player like Thiago Silva, who is thirty-eight-years-old, normally would be looking to the younger players to lift him, to help him with their quality.

Chelsea doesn’t have that quality at the moment. It looks like he has to manage everything at the back.

“During the game against Bournemouth, he was trying to explain to the midfield where they have to go when he has the ball. That shouldn’t be happening.”

Gallas’ comments suggest the Blues have completely overlooked adding experienced players around Silva in the squad – leaving the Brazilian having to help guide the younger players in games. Chelsea have had a clear strategy of signing talented youngsters since Boehly’s arrival – but it is yet to be proved as a successful plan.

Silva was linked with a return to Brazil this summer but remained at Chelsea – despite the club spending over £350million on new signings. The Blues will need to adequately replace Silva when he leaves the club – which could be as early as next summer with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
