Borno: IED Explosion kills one, injures nine as trailer hits terrorist-planted device

An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded after being struck by a trailer conveying passengers along the Komala village axis in Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State, killing one person and injuring nine others.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident occurred at about 1:30 p.m. on July 2 when the trailer, driven by Isa Uba, was travelling from Maiduguri to Damboa.

The explosive device was suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists along the route. A passenger died at the scene while nine others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

A joint response team comprising military personnel, police, EOD-CBRN operatives, CJTF members, and local hunters was deployed to the scene. Security forces have sustained combing operations in the area.
