Black Sherif is calling for greater recognition of Bosom P-Yung’s impact on Ghana’s Hip-Hop scene, describing him as one of the architects of the genre’s current sound.

In a recent appearance on the Sincerely Accra podcast, the ‘Soma Obi’ singer said Bosom’s creative footprint can be heard across the work of many new-generation acts.

He explained that Bosom P-Yung’s style has quietly shaped the direction of the genre, influencing artistes both intentionally and unknowingly. “Our modern Ghanaian Hip-Hop has a chunk of its sound from Bosom,” Black Sherif noted, adding that even musicians who may not realize it still “manifest his work in their songs.” He described himself as a long-time listener who considers Bosom a foundational figure in this era of Hip-Hop.
