Big Push is about national development, not politics — Agbodza

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has asked Ghanaians to support the government’s Big Push infrastructure programme.

He explained that the initiative is meant to help develop the country and fix Ghana’s long-standing infrastructure problems, not for political reasons.

During a road inspection tour, the minister said the projects under the programme are important for improving roads and transportation, growing the economy, and making life better for people across the country.

He said the government is focused on completing major road projects even though the country is facing economic difficulties.

“These are not politically motivated projects. They are projects we were supposed to do yesterday. We are even late in doing so, so we need to do it to help the people of this country,” he said.

Agbodza also praised contractors for their hard work and commitment to completing projects on time. He said some contractors are even working extra hours to make sure the projects are finished quickly.

“Everywhere we went, you saw the determination of the contractors. So, the Big Push will be delivered,” he added.

The minister also said the government has been able to pay contractors without taking more loans, showing its commitment to continuing infrastructure development.

According to him, a large amount of money owed to contractors has already been paid, which has increased confidence in the ongoing road projects across the country.

He encouraged contractors, consultants, and all Ghanaians to support the initiative so the road projects can be completed successfully.
