I made my professional boxing debut over a decade ago, but not only do I still use boxing as an exercise tool, I also utilize the lessons it teaches to help guide me throughout my life. And because of major advancements in technology, you don't actually have to step into a boxing gym or ring to get most of the benefits.   RELATED: How to Get Ripped A lesson you will learn from boxing is to roll with the punches, something we all have to do to get on in life, and as many of us continue to look for new, creative ways to get or stay fit, I wanted to share a way to do an at-home boxing workout.  Boxing is a great workout option because it can be done with minimal equipment, by yourself or with a partner, and it works your entire body. A boxing workout will not only reduce stress and increase self-defense skills, but also help you to reach those New Year's resolutions in a fun and interactive way.  With that being said, the following are my top five recommendations for apps that will help you to gain or build boxing and self-defense skills:  Kickboxing Fitness Workout This app teaches martial arts skills to improve self-defense, stamina, and coordination, among others, in a group class setting. It features beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels with 3D models that were developed by a certified personal trainer. This free app offers a bevy of useful features and instruction, making it a great place for anyone to get in a total-body workout, but you can upgrade and personalize your experience with some of the paid extras.   Check it out here PunchLab: Boxing Workouts  PunchLab tracks your punches during combat or martial arts workouts that were designed for boxing, MMA, Muay Thai, and kickboxing training. With a new workout added every week, you can continuously better yourself and learn new techniques. Subscriptions range from $10 per month with a quarterly commitment to $4 per month with a yearly commitment, and allow access to many features including: punch counter, punch meter, and a boxing timer.   Check it out here ClassPass: Fitness Workout App  With choices including boxing, cycling, yoga, and more, this app gives you access to more than 25,000 studios and gyms. You can stream unlimited workouts, take classes with your friends, and track fitness goals along the way. ClassPass gives you a free trial to get going and see if you like it, but after that, you can choose from a variety of monthly subscription packages starting at just $19/month.  Check it out here FightCamp Boxing Workouts FightCamp is a tool that will help you “hit your punch goals,” and climb up a leaderboard that will allow you to visualize your success with the push of competitiveness. With six trainers and new workouts added every week, the various and ever-changing workouts give you a chance to not only perfect your form but target different areas of your body. While this app may be on the pricier end, around $39 per month, there are various financing options available.   Check it out here Heavy Bag Pro  Although not just a boxing app, Heavy Bag Pro is a phenomenal tool for aspiring boxers, punchers, kickboxers, and Muay Thai fighters, or just the everyday man or woman looking to use these fighting styles to get in the best shape of their life. The app asks you to choose your preferred training style and then gives you the option of doing drills, HIIT workouts, partner workouts, or specific skill training focused on defense, offense, power, speed and mobility. The basic workouts are all free, but if you choose to upgrade, you can unlock workouts tailored by real-life boxing professionals and coaches. Check it out here These apps are a great place for someone who is beginning their boxing, exercise, or fitness journey. Now, I’m not saying you will become a professional boxer by using these apps, but if you are looking to get into boxing or change up your workout routine, give these a download. If you end up liking it, make your way to your local boxing ring once it's safe to do so and show off your new skills!  You Might Also Dig: Best Workouts for Mental Health The Top Garmin Fitness Trackers How Nervous System Training Can Make You More Athletic
