‎Joyous supporters and well-wishers gathered today to celebrate the 60th birthday of Mallam Abubakar Suleiman Tela, a distinguished public servant whose remarkable career in the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA) has spanned exactly six decades of committed service.

‎The double celebration, marking both his personal milestone and the closure of a long chapter in public service, drew tributes from colleagues, family, and community leaders who hailed Tela’s integrity, professionalism, and lasting impact on the authority responsible for water resources management across Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Bauchi states.

‎In a heartfelt and reflective statement, the celebrant expressed deep gratitude:
‎”Alhamdulillah, a heartfelt and reflective moment. Today I turn 60 and close a chapter of service that shaped who I am. I’m grateful for every challenge, every colleague, and every life I was privileged to touch along the way.

‎”To the years behind me, thank you for the lessons. To the years ahead, I’m ready for rest, family, faith, and the kind of adventures that don’t need a timesheet. Here’s to legacy, not just longevity, he said.

‎Tela, who served as Assistant Director in the Finance Department of the UBRBDA, earned a reputation for dedication and excellence throughout his career. He was previously recognised with an award of excellence for his exemplary leadership and humanitarian contributions.

‎Adding colour and prestige to the occasion were prominent traditional title holders who joined in the felicitation, including Tambari Mubi, the Garkuwan Kudu of Funakaye in Gombe State, alongside Dan Masani Maiha, Talba Belel, and Jarma Matasan Arewa.

‎Mr Tom Garba, publisher of Tgnews, also praised the celebrant as a fine and humble administrator with a deep sense of humor.

‎Their presence underscored the respect Tela commands across northern Nigeria, blending public service recognition with traditional honour.

‎Supporters described the day as a fitting tribute to a man whose work has contributed to the development of water infrastructure and agricultural support in the Upper Benue region.

‎Many highlighted how his six decades of service exemplified commitment, resilience, and a focus on touching lives beyond bureaucratic duties.

‎As Mallam Abubakar Suleiman Tela steps into a new phase focused on family, faith, and personal pursuits, well-wishers prayed for continued good health, peace, and fulfilment in his retirement years.

‎The celebration served as a powerful reminder that true legacy is built not just through longevity in service, but through the positive impact left on institutions and communities alike.

‎Happy 60th Birthday, Mallam Abubakar Suleiman Tela! May your next chapter be as rewarding as the one you have gracefully closed.
