A Co-director/Co-producer of Ilorin 2025 Durbar Docu- Series, Mr. Tunde Ayinla has lauded Kwara State governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision for the establishment of Ilorin Innovation Hub, Sugar Factory Film Studios, and Institute of Contemporary African Art and Film in the state.

He said that the establishments of the affected institutions had provided the opportunity for the state to tap local artists and thereby putting the Kwara in world map of creative initiative.

Ayinla stated this in Ilorin while speaking with newsmen on the feat recorded during the just concluded
the 30th Anniversary celebrations of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.

According to him, “the decision to use local talent predominantly, including cinematographers, photographers, and other creatives too numerous to mention for the event was key to maintaining the narrative’s integrity and achieving a world-class vision”.

He said that, “the showcase of the local talents was in aligning strongly with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision for institutions like the Ilorin Innovation Hub, Sugar Factory Film Studios, and Institute of Contemporary African Art & Film.

“And, it is also aiming to showcase the innovative and creative ingenuity of local talents through major creative culture exports”.

To ensure top-tier production quality, Ayinla said that, “Co-director/Editor of the series, Mr. Fodio Abdulkadir confirmed that they consulted UK-based post-production coordinator, Ola Omotoso—who has worked on projects like the UK-produced Netflix series Fool Me Once,

“The most-watched series globally on Netflix in the first half of 2024.
Durbar Docu-Series was powered by Kwara State Govt through the state Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology via the Sugar Factory Film Studios.

“This collaboration enabled the duo to secure top-tier colorists and sound designers who have previously worked on projects by veteran filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, resulting in the series possessing exceptional post-production value.

“The Docu-Series’ success is serving as a major buildup to a highly anticipated, even more cinematic Season 2, scheduled for release in the coming weeks”.

Ayinla therefore urged the people of the state to reecho the series so as to serve as an impetus towards promoting the culture and intellectuals capacity of the local artists in the state.
