American actor, Jeremy Renner, has posted a thank-you note to his fans from his hospital bed on Wednesday.

The Avenger star was seriously injured by his snow plough outside his home in Reno, Nevada on Sunday.

According to his publicist, Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.

In an Instagram post from his hospital bed on early Wednesday, he wrote: "Thank you all for your kind words. I'm too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all."
