Arteta Extends Stay at Arsenal with Fresh Long-Term Deal

Mikel Arteta has reached agreement with Arsenal over a new long-term contract that will keep him at the club well into the next decade.

The Spaniard’s existing deal was due to expire at the end of the current season, but fresh terms have now been finalised following months of talks.

The new agreement is expected to take Arteta into at least his 10th year at the Emirates after he first arrived as manager in December 2019.

It will also include a significant increase on his previous salary of £10 million per year plus bonuses.

Arteta has repeatedly expressed his desire to remain at Arsenal, telling reporters recently that he is “extremely happy” at the club and that there was “nothing to be concerned about” regarding his future.

The deal underlines the mutual commitment between the Premier League champions and their longest-serving manager in the modern era.
