Arsenal made English football history on Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the EFL Carabao Cup.

Second-half goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka sealed the win for Mikel Arteta’s side, booking a quarter-final clash with Crystal Palace.

The night also marked a memorable milestone for Max Dowman, who became the youngest player ever to start a competitive game for Arsenal at just 15 years and 302 days old.

But the historic evening didn’t end there. The result capped off a flawless month for the Gunners, who became the first top-flight team in English football history to play six matches in a single month and win all six without conceding a goal.

The run began with a 2-0 Champions League victory over Olympiacos, followed by Premier League wins against West Ham United (2-0) and Fulham (1-0). Arsenal then delivered their most emphatic result of the month — a 4-0 home win against Atletico Madrid, with Viktor Gyokeres scoring twice in three minutes.

They continued their dominant form with a narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League before defeating Brighton in the Carabao Cup to complete their perfect October and extend their overall winning streak to eight games in all competitions.

Arteta’s men now turn their focus to November, when they face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday. The Gunners head into the clash sitting four points clear at the top of the table, having won seven, drawn one, and lost one of their nine league games so far this season.
