Youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Hon. Innocent Ajaelu, has called on Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, to explain why governance and development are at a standstill in the state.

Ajaelu, who is also a former chairman of Oyigbo local government area of the state, made the call yesterday in a chat with LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He said it would be wrong for Fubara to hinge the inability of his administration to provide good governance and development in the state, to the face-off between him and his political mentor, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike.

He said, “Is he not getting the allocation? In all these political ascentities as he claimed or as anybody could claim, has the governor not gotten his allocations? Has he not been receiving the internally generated revenue?

“The only thing that can impede the development of a state is when you are being denied your statutory allocation or when the revenue of the state drops.

“I ask; has the governor come any day you say the revenue of the state has dropped or that the federal government has denied him his statutory allocation?

“So, for him not to develop Rivers State and he is hooking it up on crisis between him and his father, his mentor, the onus lies on him to explain to Rivers people what is actually going on.”
