The upcoming bye-elections scheduled for February 3, 2024, have prompted the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to release their respective timetables.

On Monday, the APC, through its National Organising Secretary, Sulaimon Argungu, unveiled the schedule, which includes the commencement of the sale of nominations, expressions of interest, and delegates forms for senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats from December 27, 2023, to January 2, 2024. The party has also set January 6, 2024, as the date for its primary elections.

Furthermore, the APC disclosed the cost of its expression of interest and nomination forms for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly, which are priced at N20 million, N10 million, and N2 million, respectively.

It is noteworthy that the bye-elections were slated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the resignation or demise of members of the national and state houses of assembly, with vacancies occurring across two senatorial districts, four federal constituencies, and three state constituencies in nine states of the federation.
