APC Accuses Malami, ADC Of Sponsoring Political Thugs In Kebbi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has accused former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, of sponsoring political thugs responsible for recent violent incidents in the state.

The APC also alleged that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) played a role in supporting these thugs, contributing to the unrest that has unsettled residents.

The allegation was made in a statement on Tuesday, by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Nasir Idris.

According to Sarki, “Hoodlums allegedly loyal to the ADC stormed Birnin Kebbi during Malami’s recent visit, attacking our party secretariat and vandalising billboards of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris.

 “The attackers also destroyed campaign posters and fired gunshots, leaving residents in fear.”

He added, “Some of these individuals were brought in from neighbouring states and were armed with dangerous weapons.

“They were clearly intending to incite fear and disrupt the peaceful political environment of Kebbi.”

Sarki further warned, “We will not tolerate any attempt to undermine democracy in Kebbi State. Security agencies must act decisively against these perpetrators.”

While the ADC maintained that Malami’s visit was a condolence mission, APC supporters and residents argued that the violence that followed contradicted such claims.

 “A local resident who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “We have never seen this level of aggression in Kebbi.

 “People are scared to go about their daily activities, and the community feels threatened.”
