ANYIM VISITS GANDUJE, SPARKS DEFECTION RUMORS AS PDP CRISIS DEEPENS

Former Senate president and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pius Anyim Pius, on Sunday, paid a visit to Umar Ganduje, the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The outcome of the meeting is yet to be made public however, sources say the former senate president might be joining the ruling APC.

Politics Nigeria recalls that Anyim also had met with President Bola Tinubu at Aso Rock in July, a sign many interpreted as a plot to cross over to the ruling APC.

Anyim told reporters after meeting with the president that: “It was a great honour to pay courtesy to the President and congratulate him, first and foremost, for his successful inauguration as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and also to encourage and congratulate him for the bold decisions he has taken so far.”
