Leading the women’s team is world record holder Tobi Amusan, who is expected to compete in the women’s 100m hurdles alongside Adaobi Tabugbo and Janet Sunday.

Nigeria will also rely on sprint sensation Rosemary Chukwuma, one of the fastest female athletes this season, who is set to feature in both the women’s 100m and the 4x100m relay team alongside Miracle Ezechukwu, Maria Thompson Omokwe, and Tejiri Ugoh.

The female squad also includes experienced quarter-miler Patience Okon George, long jump star Ruth Usoro, and hammer throw specialist Oyesade Olatoye.

On the men’s side, sprint star Favour Ashe and Africa’s leading shot put athlete Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will spearhead Nigeria’s campaign.

The sprint lineup also features Enoch Adegoke, Usheoritse Itsekiri, and Chidera Ezakor, while the men’s 400m and relay squad will be anchored by Samson Nathaniel, Emmanuel Ojeli, and Chidi Okezie.

Nigeria’s field event representation will include athletes such as Romeo Bernard, Emmanuel Audu, and javelin thrower Adams Samuel Kure.

The championships in Accra are expected to serve as a major test for Team Nigeria as athletes continue preparations toward future international competitions, including the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

With a squad packed with experience, speed, and emerging talent, expectations will once again be high for Nigeria to compete strongly among Africa’s athletics elite.
