Sevilla striker Akor Adams has expressed delight after bringing his nine-game goal drought to an end in style.

The Nigeria international was one of the standout performers as Sevilla cruised to a convincing 4-0 victory over Real Oviedo at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Sunday afternoon. Adams not only found the back of the net but also registered two assists in an impressive all-round display.

The 25-year-old opened the scoring just four minutes into the encounter, giving the Rojiblancos an early advantage. He later turned provider, setting up Djibril Sow and Batista Mendy for Sevilla’s second and third goals.

Fellow Nigerian international Chidera Ejuke completed the rout with Sevilla’s fourth goal late in the match.

Buoyed by his performance, Adams is now eager to build momentum and score more goals for Mattias Almeyda’s side in the coming games.

“I wouldn’t say that. The best is yet to come. The best is yet to come. The best thing is the three points, which we also deserved against Valencia,” Akor was quoted by Elsevillista.

“It’s been a great match for me, for the team and for the fans. It’s been a great day for everyone.

“I have the privilege of having been selected by Nigeria. It’s an opportunity you can’t say no to.”

Akor has registered three goals and two assists in 14 league appearances for Sevilla this season.
