Air Peace To Launch London Flights From Ogun Airport This Summer

Air Peace has announced plans to commence international flight operations from London to the newly inaugurated Gateway International Airport in Ogun State this summer.

The airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema, made this known on Saturday while addressing journalists at the airport’s inauguration.

Onyema praised the facility, describing it as one of the most advanced in Sub-Saharan Africa, while commending the Ogun State Government for its development.

He also disclosed that the airline has secured approval from the Ministry of Aviation to begin operations.

“This is one of the best, if not the best airport in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is not just a building; it is everything you can think of that makes an airport an airport. Just the same thing if not better than what you find in the western world,” he said.

“Air Peace will not sit back and watch this place go unused. What he has done for Ogun state is not just for Ogun state alone, but the entire country, Nigeria. We are coming here under the governor’s invitation to start London-Gatwick and London-Heathrow flights to Gateway International Airport this summer.”

He further noted that the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has directed the airline to proceed with the planned operations at the airport.
