AC Milan goalkeeper Noah Raveyre has revealed he had an offer from Chelsea during the summer which he chose to turn down in order to complete his switch to Italy.

Raveyre was signed from Saint-Etienne on a free transfer in the summer after his contract ran out and he has made four appearances for Ignazio Abate’s Primavera side. The vision behind his signing is of course that he could become a part of the senior team down the line.

Milan have brought in numerous young players from abroad to be developed for the future such as Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw, Dariusz Stalmach, Jan-Carlo Simic, Alexander Simmelhack and others who are in the youth set-up at present.

Raveyre spoke to L’Eveil about his decision to join Milan during the summer window and rejecting Chelsea in the process, with his comments relayed by SportWitness.

“I accomplished part of my dream by becoming a professional in one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said.

“I also think that the most complicated paths lead to the greatest successes. Other clubs like Chelsea were interested, it can make your head spin, that’s for sure. But only the sports project interested me.

“I didn’t want to talk about offers that didn’t lead to anything concrete. At 18, I couldn’t rely on a financial project. We know that there is money in this environment, but sportsmanship comes first, because I am young, and football is my passion.”
