Former governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada, has appealed to all members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state to shun internal rivalries and embrace peace and unity.

Wada who is also the Chairman of the Kogi Progressive Stakeholders Forum, KPSF, made the call at a meeting organised by the forum on Wednesday in Lokoja.

While addressing the gathering, Wada advised all members of the party in the state to shun all acts of internal rivalries, stressing that only a united party can effectively support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda and guarantee electoral success in 2027.

The former governor noted that inclusiveness remains a core principle of the forum, adding that all party members, irrespective of status or tendency, must be carried along in the collective effort to strengthen the APC and deepen democratic participation.

Other chieftains of the party among whom are Baba Ali, Karimi, Akor and Salawudeen, expressed optimism that Tinubu will get overwhelming votes from the state in 2027. They, however, noted that this can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and cohesion.

The leaders in a communique issued at the end of the meeting, called for sustained unity, equity and fairness, voter mobilisation and strategic engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairman of the forum, Suleiman Baba Ali, Senator representing Kogi West, Sunday Steve Karimi, former Director General of National Productivity Centre, Dr Kashim Akor and a former local government chairman, Ganiyu Salawudeen.

Others are a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Abutu Yaro and a former House of Representatives member who represented Lokoja /Kogi, Haruna Isah.
