2027: Oyo ADC Lawmaker Reaffirms, Says ADC is the Best Option as Kwankwaso Pitches Tent with Party

A lawmaker of the African Democratic Congress in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Aare (Hon) Dawood Olalere D-Al-Ameen, has strongly defended the growing strength of the party, declaring it the best political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections following the defection of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The lawmaker representing Ibasan NorthWest State Constituency in the Assembly, made this assertion while reacting to Kwankwaso’s move from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the ADC, describing the development as both “strategic and timely.”

In a statement made available to journalists, the party chieftain who is also a hopeful for Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest cum 2027 said the high-profile defection has further reinforced ADC’s credibility as a formidable alternative in Nigeria’s political space.

“This development clearly shows that ADC remains the best option for Nigerians who truly desire a new direction. Kwankwaso’s decision is not only bold but also a strong signal that the party is gaining national acceptance,” Olalere stated.

He stressed that the entry of the former NNPP chieftain would significantly reshape the political dynamics ahead of 2027, particularly in the northern region where Kwankwaso commands substantial influence.

“We are confident that his presence will galvanize massive support for our party across the North. This is a game changer that will greatly enhance our chances in the coming elections,” he added.

Olalere further assured that the party would provide an enabling environment for Kwankwaso to fully integrate and contribute meaningfully to its growth and success.

Welcoming him into the ADC fold, the lawmaker congratulated Kwankwaso on what he described as a “wise and strategic decision,” expressing optimism that the party is now better positioned to challenge for power at the national level in 2027.
