2026 WCQ: Benjamin Fredrick joins 17 others in Super Eagles camp

Exciting young defender Benjamin Fredrick has joined the Super Eagles camp in Polokwane, South Africa, ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic.

Fredrick’s arrival, confirmed by the team’s media officer Promise Efoghe, brings the total number of players in camp to 18.

Those already in camp include captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Chrisantus Uche, Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Terem Moffi, and Moses Simon.

Others are Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Frank Onyeka, Tolu Arokodare, Semi Ajayi, Stanley Nwabali, Adebayo Adeleye, and Amas Obasogie.

The Super Eagles held their first training session on Tuesday evening at 6pm as preparations intensify for the doubleheader fixtures.

Nigeria will face Lesotho away on Friday, October 10 before hosting Benin Republic in Uyo on Tuesday, October 14.

With only two matches left in the qualifiers, the Super Eagles sit third in Group C with 11 points, three points behind Benin Republic and South Africa, who occupy the top two spots.
