Despite being offered on just three of its seven total model lines, Subaru's Wilderness sub-brand makes up more than 15 percent of the company's total sales each year. The first member of the Subaru family intended for rugged adventuring was the 2022 Forester Wilderness, and its reasonable off-road capability and rough-and-tumble styling made it very popular. Unfortunately, the small crossover was also surprisingly thirsty and noisy, a side effect of its chunky all-terrain tires.
