15 Killed In Fatal Bus Crash Along Lokoja-Okene Highway

No fewer than 15 persons lost their lives in a fatal lone accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus with Plateau State registration number along the Lokoja–Okene highway in the early hours of Friday.

The tragic incident occurred at Akub in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, on the busy highway, throwing motorists and residents into panic as emergency responders and sympathisers rushed to the scene to assist the victims.

An eyewitness who stopped at the scene to render assistance described the accident as devastating, noting that several passengers died on the spot due to the severity of the crash.

The cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained as of the time of filing this report, eye witness said the driver may have slept off due to long hours of night driving.

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state are yet to issue any official statement regarding the identities of the victims and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
