Fiat Chrysler separated Ram as a distinct brand from Dodge back in 2010. Ostensibly, the move was to simplify the branding. Dodge would focus on performance and SUVs. Ram would build trucks and work vans (both profitable and attractive if FCA needed to spin Ram off and sell it). Fast-forward 15 years later, and Stellantis has decided to branch Ram out. The brand has confirmed, as part of an announcement detailing a $13 billion investment in America, that it will build its first SUV.
