WWE will decide the future of the NXT championship next week

This past week’s episode of NXT television ended with Oba Femi successfully defending the NXT championship in a match against TNA’s Leon Slater to cap off the “New Year’s Evil” special. Immediately after, he made a decision — to leave the title in the ring and walk away from it.

The symbolism was obvious, and WWE quickly confirmed his intention. The championship was being vacated ahead of Femi’s pending move to the main roster.

So what happens with the title next?
