WWE Raw preview (Sept. 8, 2025): Becky Lynch has a very good reason to be afraid of AJ Lee

Raw airs today (Sept. 8) with a live show from Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is the second episode of Raw during the three week build to Wrestlepalooza, which takes place on Sept. 20.

Becky Lynch has a very good reason to be afraid of AJ Lee

Last week on SmackDown, Becky Lynch brushed off names like Bayley and Rhea Ripley when CM Punk teased giving them a call to kick The Man’s ass. Yet as soon as AJ Lee’s entrance music played, Lynch went into panic mode and was clearly afraid of the returning star.

Some folks might wonder why Becky was so scared when AJ is tiny in physical stature compared to many of the women she’s battled in WWE over the last decade. Well, the answer is pretty simple. As Michael Cole and Corey Graves were quick to remind the audience, being crazy is AJ’s superpower. Just from the way AJ slowly twisted her head to the side to stare at Lynch after her arrival, you knew Becky was in a world of trouble.

AJ’s greatest strength as a WWE star was always her promos and character work, which quickly got fans invested in her “crazy” persona. We’ll see those skills on display tonight because AJ is scheduled to appear on WWE’s flagship show for the first time in over a decade. What will AJ have to say about her shocking return to WWE last week? Will CM Punk join her in the ring to issue a challenge to Seth Rollins and Lynch for a tag team match at Wrestlepalooza?

Tune into Raw to see what happens when AJ Lee goes crazy on Becky Lynch again.

The rest of the card

AJ Styles vs. El Grande Americano is booked on tonight’s show. AJ will be in a foul mood after Americano screwed him over last week during his rematch against Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio. Will Dirty Dom return the favor tonight, or is he too much of a coward to mess with an irate Phenomenal One? How many other Los Grandes Americanos will show up by the time this one is over?

Lyra Valkyria vs. Raquel Rodriguez is also scheduled for Raw, after they got into a bit of a verbal spat in GM Adam Pearce’s office last week. Is the newest incarnation of Bayley ready to return to make sure it’s a night that Lyra never forgets?

Finally, The Usos will appear live on Raw. After “Big Jim” came over from SmackDown to stop The Vision from destroying his brother Jey last week, are The Usos ready to reunite for a potential match against Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker at Wrestlepalooza?

Other stuff to keep an eye on

– Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY will fight each other for the vacant women’s world championship at Wrestlepalooza. Rhea Ripley already has her eye on the winner of that match, and Asuka takes exception to that. Is there anything IYO can do to get Asuka under control to prevent this drama from affecting the Wrestlepalooza match?

– Is LA Knight being bumped out of his story with The Vision now that CM Punk and The Usos are seemingly taking up the full babyface quota for Rollins and his henchmen to deal with at one time?

– The New Day have a really big problem with Penta’s Mexican Destroyer. Will Grayson Waller have to unleash the Australian Destroyer in order to stop him?

– If WWE is skipping out on doing a draft this year, does that increase the chances that a struggling SmackDown tag team like Motor City Machine Guns will come over to Raw looking for a match against World Tag Team Champions Finn Balor and JD McDonagh?

– Rusev says you should try to be like him, because it’s impossible to be good when you’re destined to be great. Is there anyone else on the Raw roster who is willing to be as tough, courageous, and unstoppable as Rusev?

– Where the f*** are the Creed Brothers? They haven’t wrestled a match on Raw since July, but did compete at some NXT live events over the weekend.

What will you be looking for on Raw?
