WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAY 19

You and me, we’re gonna escape tonight, on the run, under the moonlight. Don’t think about nothing, except for me liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.

Myles Borne and Tony D’Angelo make their entrances to get things going right into our opening match.

Naturally enough, Kam Hendrix and Mason Rook make their entrances next and we go to business.

Kam Hendrix & Mason Rook vs. Myles Borne & Tony D’Angelo

Hendrix and Borne to start, Kam with a collar and elbow, getting him in the corner, shoulder blocking him down, Myles cracks him in the jaw for some breathing room! Tilt-a-whirl powerslam from Hendrix! Off the ropes, leapfrog, dropkick from Borne, follow it up with the snap scoop powerslam… NO DEAL!

Tag to D’Angelo, whip across, big headlock takeover from Tony! Short-arm lariat follows, we see Tavion Heights watching backstage and Rook tags in! Trading big right hands with the NXT Men’s Champion, Superman Punch from Tony D gets a chop from Mason! Float over a slam, off the ropes, shoulder block from D’Angelo barely budges him but Rook clobbers him with one!

Whip corner to corner, corner body avalanche, lariat, big senton… NOPE! Tony D hooks him, Mason counters, fireman’s carry, D’Angelo slips out, waistlock, big man blocks the German suplex! Tony firing elbows, tag to Borne, throwing Rook off the ropes… DOUBLE BACK SUPLEX SENDS THE BIG MAN ROLLING TO THE FLOOR!

Hendrix runs in and gets back body dropped to the floor, established stars stand tall in the ring and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Borne and Rook trading shots, Myles floats over a slam attempt, Mason goes in the corner, referee Darryl Sharma distracted and Hendrix runs in and chop blocks Borne, Rook with a cover for two! Wristlock, dragging him over, tag to Kam, double whip, double elbows, big splash from the big man, Hendrix covers… MYLES OUT AT ONE!

Kam working him over, blasting Borne with a boot, drawing him up, tossing suplex, cover… STILL NO! Rook tags in, off the ropes, revolution Blue Thunder Driver… BORNE WON’T STAY DOWN! Myles slips out, ducking and dodging double-teams, tag to D’Angelo! Spear on Mason, German suplex for a freshly-tagged Kam, another one, Tony whips him across, big spinning spinbuster and he’s fired up!

Off the ropes, duck a lariat, head of steam, spear on Hendrix, cover… ROOK BREAKS IT UP! Mason tags back in, the match breaks down, powerbomb on Kam, Cactus Clothesline on Rook! Mason scoops Tony up, float over, charging in and Rook sidesteps and puts D’Angelo into the steel steps! Borne off the ropes… TOPE CON GIRO ON MASON ROOK!

Myles and Mason legal, back inside, Tavion Heights appears and clobbers Hendrix, accidentally sending him into Borne! Myles heads inside, Mason catches him… BLU-RAY! Kam with a blind tag, Rook hits Ground Zero (hey, remember Keith Lee?) and Hendrix slides in and steals it from his own partner…

Kam Hendrix & Mason Rook win by pinfall with a lateral press from Hendrix on Myles Borne.

Post-match, Rook stares daggers in the back of Hendrix’s head as he celebrates.

DarkState are backstage hyped up about their title match and how they’re all on the same page now. Dion Lennox asks Saquon Shugars what he meant by them needing to make some changes if they lose tonight. Shugars tells him not to worry about it because it’s all love and all that’s left to do is to go get what’s theirs back, because ain’t no one safe when DarkState strikes.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Kelani Jordan makes her entrance in street clothes, and gets into the ring and on the mic.

She asks someone to explain what a girl has to do around here since she’s the fastest-rising home-grown NXT star and she beat Kendal Grey last week, so she’s better than all those women they called up to Raw and SmackDown. She’s better than Fatal Influence, than Blake Monroe, than Sol Ruca, than any woman sitting in the back listening right now.

She’s the only woman to make Lola Vice tap out– not just pin her, not just catch her on a bad night, but made her tap out, and that alone should have put her at the front of the line a long time ago, but the crazy part is she’s never, not once, gotten an opportunity for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Instead she sits and watches these women who are half as athletic, half as talented, getting opportunities left and right. People say she’s got potential but potential is for people who have to figure it out and she’s already got it, so it’s her time to get a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.

Everyone’s gotten too comfortable overlooking her, but that’s the easy way out, compared to recognizing that she’s the most underrated woman in the entire locker room.

Enter Izzi Dame in weird furry chaps for some reason.

She asks if Kelani’s seriously trying to jump the line again, and notes the times she’s given Lola Vice what for and says if anybody deserves a shot it’s her.

Enter Lola Vice.

She tells both women to stop wasting time because yeah they have wins but she’s the NXT Women’s Champion and has won every time it matters. Kelani talks a lot about wanting the title but she can’t handle her fists, and Izzi Dame? Last week she hit her in the back of the head and thought she’d get away with it?

But she’s a fighting champion so she’ll give Izzi her fifteen seconds of fame next week. Jordan complains about Dame getting a match first and Lola tells her not to worry, because after she’s done with Izzi she’ll–

Enter Kendal Grey.

She tells Lola her eyes are still on the title but Kelani– Jordan makes a dolphin noise at her and says she knows what’s happening, she’s getting put to the end of the line again. Kendal says Kelani isn’t gonna get a chance because she has some bigger issues… WREN SINCLAIR BLINDSIDES JORDAN WITH A CRUTCH AND THE BABYFACES SEND THE HEELS PACKING!

Sean Legacy is backstage with Dorian Van Dux chatting about how Tate Wilder cost Legacy a trios last week but he’s biting off more than he can chew.

Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno walk past talking about Romeo’s upcoming debut and he asks Noam to be ringside for it. Dar agrees and we go to break.

Back from commercial, the locker room is watching Nattie Neidhart talk about wanting somebody to step up to her and putting down Jaida Parker.

Parker rolls up and Layla Diggs talks trash about how Jaida lost like twice and the whole world is against her. Parker says she’ll give her an opportunity next week to get her ass dragged up and down the ring. Layla accepts the challenge and they bicker.

Romeo Moreno is in the ring for his debut, Noam Dar giving him a pep talk from ringside.

Unfortunately for him, Tristan Angels makes his entrance to be his opponent.

Romeo Moreno vs. Tristan Angels

Collar and elbow, Angels grabs a wristlock, quick reversals, waistlock from Moreno, taking Tristan down every time he gets back to his feet. Finally Angels gets in the ropes and breaks dirty with a slap! Big lariat follows, talking trash, Romeo pops him in the mush! Slide under, upkick to a tijeras, drop toehold, Moreno follows it with a dropkick right on the button!

Corner headbutt, whip reversed, elbow, boots up, Tristan slings him through the ropes and hangs him up for a double stomp! Straight suplex for two! Elbow gets a slap, Angels whips him into the corner and hits a backbreaker on the rebound! Shiloh Hill is shown in the crowd with a sign reading “Mr. NXT”, slapping hands and tipping his cap.

Tristan distracted, off the ropes, Moreno arm drags him to the floor… STEP UP DIVING CROSSBODY TO THE FLOOR! Romeo hops up on the barricade and slaps hands with Shiloh Hill to send us to break!

Back from commercial, both men slugging it out in the middle of the ring, Moreno with a hell of a kick from the ropes, off the ropes with lariats, corner enzuigiri, Romeo springboard dropkick for two! Angels with a lungblower, he gets a bloodied mouth but no fall! Boots up in the corner, headed up top, Romeo clobbers him with a leaping headbutt!

Double jump double stomp to the spine… TRISTAN KICKS OUT! Angels to the floor, putting Moreno’s face into the apron on a blocked Penalty Kick, back inside…

Tristan Angels wins by pinfall with a leaping guillotine knee strike across the back of the neck.

Post-match, Angels says he hopes Shiloh’s been enjoying watching the show where he belongs, in the crowd with the plebs. Hill says he hopes he’s proved he can in fact outclass Tristan unlike what he said last week, by wearing his fancy hat and gloves and whatnot, and he’s starting a campaign to officially be recognized as Mr. NXT.

He asks the crowd if they’d rather he was Mr. NXT, or this guy, at which point he puts up a picture on the tron of Tristan awkwardly wearing tux and tails. The crowd votes for excellent weirdo Shiloh Hill and Angels says the crowd can’t appreciate true beauty and Hill will regret ruining what was supposed to be his perfect debut.

Lola Vice walks up to talk shop with Tatum Paxley.

She talks about how she doesn’t know how Tatum dealt with Izzie Dame and Paxley says she can’t wait to see Lola hand her her ass.

Tony D’Angelo and Myles Borne roll up chatting about their tag match and they commiserate on the woes of being a champion.

They leave Tony alone and Naraku rolls up to tell him that EVIL will strike when you least expect it.

Lizzy Rain makes her entrance ahead of our next match and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Shawn Spears tells Niko Vance he got them a match for next week.

Niko immediately says that’s the same night Izzi Dame has her match against Lola Vice for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Dame rolls up to complain about Lola Vice and then to complain about Spears booking that tag match, but Shawn manages to spin it as a chance for them to jumpstart themselves right back into the spotlight with two big wins.

Tatum Paxley makes her entrance to get us rolling on our next match.

Lizzy Rain vs. Tatum Paxley (c) (NXT Women’s North American Championship)

Collar and elbow, Paxley with a big arm drag, back to the lockup, Tatum with a wristlock, Rain rolls through, kips up, arm drag escape! Handshake, sportsmanship, Lizzy with a headlock takeover, grinding Paxley down! Lateral press for one, shift to an armbar, Tatum gets to her feet, wristlock from Rain, back body drop reverses!

Seated armbar from the champ, Lizzy fights out and stalemates her, throwing up the horns! Waistlock, standing switches, leg pick from the challenger, off the ropes, cartwheel into a side headlock, shot off, drop down, criss-cross, leapfrog, block the arm drag, handspring evasion on a tijeras and a dropkick sends Lizzy to the floor!

Back inside, single-leg wrecking ball dropkick connects and we go to break!

Back from commercial, both women go for crossbodies at the same time and end up down and out as Kali Armstrong watches backstage. Trading elbows, then elbows at the same time staggering, then lariats at the same time and both women go down! Charging in, Paxley ducks a lariat, lands a crescent kick, Rain returns a kick, trading kicks back and forth, enzuigiri from Lizzy wins the exchange!

Rain in with lariats, duck a kick, Karelin lift sends the champion flying! Chops in the corner, off the ropes, wrecking ball dropkick countered with an enzuigiri! Back inside, Tatum wants Cemetery Drive, blocked, both women go for headbutts, Paxley with a superkick, German suplex from Lizzy but the champ kips up!

Rain with a torpedo headbutt in the corner, rolling Koppu kick from Tatum, trading pinning predicaments, Lizzy bridges out and Paxley catches her…

Tatum Paxley wins by pinfall with Cemetery Drive, retaining the NXT Women’s North American Championship.

Post-match, Zaria attacked both women in the title match and laid them out and then we got a WrenQCC segment setting up a match next week if Wren Sinclair can get herself, but I lost all of it because WordPress is terrible and decided to log me out in the middle of the liveblog.

Sigh.

Keanu Carver vs. Tate Wilder

And because I was troubleshooting that I missed the beginning of this match, but anyway Carver is in control. Throwing Wilder around, piefacing him, shoving him around, Wilder is bleeding pretty bad from his left eye as Keanu cuts him down with a lariat! Tate fighting back with a dropkick, a sling blade, left elbows, duck a lariat, shoulder block connects!

Whip reversed, sidestep Carver shoulder-first into the post, a clothesline sends him to the floor! Big step-up tornado DDT off the steel steps! Up top, a little too slow, Keanu cuts him off… POUNCE! Carver hosses him up…

Keanu Carver wins by pinfall with a spinebuster.

Backstage, Jackson Drake gives Swipe Right a pep talk.

Swipe Right are super worried about DarkState turning it into a handicap match but Myka Lockwood rolls up and says not to worry, she’ll take care of them.

The boys are skeptical at first but she reiterates herself and they’re all stoked and we go to break.

Back from commercial, OTM are chatting backstage when Shiloh Hill rolls up to ask them to sign a petition to get him declared Mr. NXT.

They say he had the guts to ask they might as well sign and he wishes them luck in their match against the Culling next week.

Shiloh moves on to Birth Right next and Arianna Grace says she’s Mrs. NXT and she’s not gonna share a throne with someone with no fashion sense. They bicker, Charlie Dempsey speaks up and says he’ll show Hill what a real wrestler is like in a match next week.

Kam Hendrix is interviewed in the ring.

He puts himself over for beating not just one but two champions in his first NXT match, and everybody can see why they call him Showtime. He could go after the North American Championship but he’s here to win the biggest prize, and that NXT Men’s Championship is looking ready for Lights, Kam, Actio–

Enter Mason Rook.

Hendrix is ready to gladhand him but Rook isn’t having it and says Kam is out here acting like their win tonight was all him, but these people have eyes and they saw that he took the win from Mason. Without him, Kam wouldn’t be out here calling his shot at all, let alone at a champion. But he’s gonna give him a favor and give him a chance to give credit to the man who’s big, who’s bad–

Kam says nobody’s gonna remember Mason was in the match, just that he won, and Rook better get lost. He rubs Mason’s belly and Rook attacks, taking him out and putting him down with a Blu-Ray!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a hype reel for last week’s NXT house shows, featuring Bayley and Grayson Waller.

DarkState are already in the ring and the Vanity Project make their entrance, Jackson Drake riding on Myka Lockwood’s shoulders, to get our main event going– AND DARKSTATE ATTACK THEM ON THE RAMP!

DarkState (Dion Lennox & Saquon Shugars) vs. Swipe Right (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) (c) (NXT Men’s Tag Team Championship)

In the ring, Lennox starts the match but quickly gets overwhelmed by Swipe Right! Baylor legal, Dion slams him, tags Shugars in, double whip into double forearms, quick tag, forearm spins Brad out, cover for two! Tag to Saquon, dropkick connects, Lennox was expecting a double-team but gets with the program in time to punch Baylor right into a wristlock from Shugars!

Brad gets away and tags Smokes in, nobody home on an elbow drop, big hip toss from Saquon, into the corner, Dion tags in! Shoulder block, dropkick, Ricky flounders like a fish out of water but manages to kick out of the cover! Back into the corner, more quick tags from DarkState, cross chop to Shugars’ throat, shot off, Lennox with a hip toss and then he hip tosses his own partner into Ricky for a senton!

Tags made, Saquon with a big monkey flip, pick the leg, double leg, catapult sends Baylor over the ropes and to the floor! Wrecking ball dropkick connects, DarkState punching away, sending Smokes to the floor, they’re on the same page and we’re going to break!

Back from commercial, Shugars on the wrong side of town, a low-bridge puts Baylor’s head into Smokes’ midsection and Saquon bails to the floor for a breather! Sidestepping Ricky into the barricade, back inside, tag to Lennox! In hot with lariats, pop-up drop, double northern lights suplex and Dion is fired up!

Powerslam connects, Brad shoves Dion into a tag, Shugars leapfrogs Baylor, drop toeholds Smokes into the ropes, diving dropkick to the floor takes Brad out! Slingshot back inside, Oklahoma roll for two, backslide… NO DEAL! Short spear from Smokes, headbutt from Saquon, backfist, tag to Baylor! Enzuigiri from Shugars, big boot, Brad takes him down with an enzuigiri but Dion is legal!

Lennox with a slingshot powerbomb, Saquon takes Smokes out with a diving crossbody, Lennox makes the cover… BAYLOR KICKS OUT! Dion calls for it, Shugars gives the nod, electric chair, Ricky saves his buddy, tags in, off the ropes, Lennox with a double lariat! Myka Lockwood jawing at Cutler James and Osiris Griffin, thrust spinebuster from Dion but Saquon tagged in!

Swipe Right win by pinfall with a small package from Ricky Smokes on Saquon Shugars, retaining the NXT Men’s Tag Team Championship.

Post-match, Osiris and Cutler jump Saquon and beat him down while Dion looks on shocked!

They leave Shugars down and walk towards Lennox… AND LENNOX ATTACKS SAQUON HIMSELF AND BEATS HIM DOWN! Spinning spinebuster takes him out! Shugars, defiant, spits in Dion’s face and Griffin and James pull him to the floor and toss him to Dion… TOSSING ASSISTED POWERBOMB THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!

That’s the show, folks.
