WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR SEPT. 30

Take some time before you go, to think of Mondays coming down and the people that you knew and the ones that aren’t around. You’ve been fading day to day, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a recap of the TNA “invasion” from last week and then segues into a recap of the events of No Mercy from Saturday.

Newly-crowned NXT Champion Ricky Saints makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

“You deserve it!” chants ring out and he thanks the crowd before continuing and saying every giant needs to rest and that’s why he put Oba Femi down. February 8 he stood in this ring and said reality was him headlining every NXT PLE and winning the NXT Championship and so reality is standing here in front of everyone.

Everybody asked “could Ricky do it?” and now he asks “did he do it?” which is silly because he’s holding the title and he knows the answer. Ah, rhetoric. Anwyay he says he always stands on business, he put his chips on the line, bet on himself, and walked out as your new NXT Champion, and this belt is absolute proof that the only person you need to worry about is you, because there’s one person you gotta see when you go to sleep, and that’s you.

(I dunno buddy usually I see my wife or my girlfriend when I go to sleep because I don’t generally sleep with a mirror.)

Enter Jacy Jayne.

She congratulates Ricky but says they have bigger things to worry about because of the TNA invasion. Nobody likes to talk about themselves more than she does, but–

Enter general manager Ava Raine.

She says for once, Jacy is right, she does have more important things to worry about, and she’s decided they get to be the team captains for NXT, which means they both have the important task of deciding who is on their team, and she needs them to put pride and differences aside because she needs the best teams possible.

Enter TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella.

He says he’s gonna let his captains choose their teams as well and he doesn’t trust Tricky Williams so he’s not gonna be his captain. So he’d like to introduce his captain– Mike Santana! But there is someone from NXT who he does trust to be a captain of TNA, and that’s newly crowned TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan!

We get a quick recap of Kelani winning the title at Victory Road.

Santino says this isn’t an invasion, they’ve been working together for months now, so it’s more of a showcase, or a showdown, that’s it, a showdown between NXT and TNA! He’ll see everybody at the summit later.

Jacy pitches a fit about Jordan being team captain, and Ricky tells her to worry about their own teams and tells Santana he’ll see him at the end of the night.

We see Lash Legend and Jaida Parker walking separately backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Je’Von Evans ruins into Leon Slater.

Evans says they’ve probably got the youngest dream match in wrestling history set up for Bound for Glory, and the Culling roll up.

Shawn Spears chides Je’Von for fraternizing with the enemy, Evans rightly calls them goofy. Niko Vance says if he’s the best, test it against them tonight, and Je’Von shrugs and agrees, and Leon’s in for it too, and they go off to chat with the generals manager about it.

Lyra Valkyria appears to give Tatum Paxley a gift of a custom Lyra doll. Tatum is ecstatic but Izzi Dame immediately pushes her to walk away and we cut away.

Jaida Parker vs. Lash Legend

Feeling out, Parker trips her up, Legend freight trains her, vertical suplex, cover for two. Jaida sidesteps her on the apron, lands a knee, back inside, Lash with a headbutt to lay her out! Out to the floor, Parker rams her into the apron, Legend recovers and pulls her back out, cross-chop from Jaida, fireman’s carry, Samoan drop on the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Parker with a sunset flip for two! Legend with a half crab, stepping over, Jaida with the break, running blockbuster, we get picture in picture of Santana and Slater in Santino’s sanctuary, off the ropes, Parker with a shoulder block. Lash in the corner, backsplash catches her, front chancery, fisherman neckbreaker connects for two!

Legend with a reverse chinlock, Parker backs her into the corner, throwing elbows, ramming her into the turnbuckles to break, laying her on the second rope, clubbing blows, double jump seated senton! Lash blasts her with a pump kick but Jaida rolls to the floor! Out after her, Legend throws her into the steel steps and then into the barricade!

Back inside, back to back, countered to an arm drag, Parker off the ropes…

Jaida Parker wins by pinfall with the running hip attack.

In the men’s locker room, Trick Williams rolls up as co-captain and says they need to be undeniable.

Ricky Saints scoffs at the idea of co-captains, Trick says they need two more but Rick says if he’s gonna be on their team, Je’Von already has a spot. Williams is okay with it and Ricky says for the fourth guy he wants Myles Borne. Trick isn’t feeling it, he wants power and size, and Jasper Troy stands up but Williams wants Josh Briggs.

Evans won’t team with Briggs because he’s selfish, Saints says he doesn’t get to pick and he doesn’t like Josh either but he’s a good choice. Je’Von storms off, Ricky says he’ll figure it out, and Trick pitches Borne vs. Briggs for tonight, winner gets the spot on the team.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, “All Ego” Ethan Page makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He says he’s done it again and claims he’s the greatest NXT North American Champion, having turned away an Olympic-level threat by defeating Tavion Heights and proving there’s a talent gap between him and the Olympics. But now we move to business south of the border and while everybody else is worried about TNA stealing their glory, he has a medical professional coming after his glory.

El Hijo del Dr. Wagner, Jr. is coming for him but the only thing he’s doing is a bang-up job of pissing him off, so keep it up–

We see boots getting out of a car and Page says tonight is the perfect opportunity to end this.

MUSTAFA ALI IS HERE!

He greets the citizens of NXT and says he hopes no one minds his unannounced arrival here and says he has no issue with anything All Ego said, but he does have an issue with what he’s holding. Page says he doesn’t have any issues with him, he just hopes he’s gonna announce that he’s actually El Hijo del Dr. Wagner, Jr.

Ali says Ethan doesn’t owe him anything, but NXT does. It wasn’t that long ago that he earned an opportunity for that title, and sure there’s been twists and turns but he never got that title shot. He started to think he was cursed, but on this very day two years ago, at NXT No Mercy, he was promised the title match but on that day the sun did not rise.

Instead of a title match he got a phone call that told him his services were no longer needed, and here we are 749 days later, still waiting for the title match that he EARNED! All Ego asks if this is the part where he cries because it’s a hell of a sob story but he doesn’t wanna hear it.

Mustafa says he doesn’t know what kind of man Ethan takes him for but he’s not gonna cry for a title match, he’s gonna politick for it! And that’s exactly what he’s done, because he spot to Ava Raine and to Santino Marella, and next week at Showdown, not only will it be Team TNA vs. Team NXT and Darkstate vs. the Hardyz title-for-title, but next week he gets to end the curse and Page will defend the NXT North American Championship against Mustafa Ali!

All Ego flips out and says he shouldn’t be surprised because every wrestler from every company is coming at him, and if Ali thinks he’s cursed, well all of his opponents are cursed, and on Tuesday he’s gonna disappoint Mustafa again and wish him the best in his future endeavors– ALI THROWS A PUNCH!

A brawl breaks out, a kick sends Page to the floor and he scrambles to grab his title back so he can run away!

In the women’s locker room, Wren Sinclair is talking up Maybelline SuperStay matte liquid foundation (now I am a Maybelline foundation gal, but I prefer their Fit Me! matte stick foundation, which is getting annoyingly hard for me to find all of a sudden and I am going to be very cranky if it’s just discontinued) when Jacy Jayne rolls up to talk teammates.

She thinks Jaida Parker is looking strong, and Sol Ruca defended her Speed title and she’s a double champion, and as much as she doesn’t like her, she needs winners right now. Ruca agrees to be on the team and Lola Vice steps forward. She says she took Jayne further than anybody else and they need her.

Fallon Henley claims the spot as presumptively hers, everybody bickers, and Jacy books Fallon vs. Lola for a spot on the team.

Zaria takes Sol aside to talk to her somewhere else, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a promo from the Hardy Boyz ahead of their title-for-title match for next week and we’re informed that the two Darkstate men who aren’t participating will be banned from ringside to make it a fair fight.

Josh Briggs vs. Myles Borne (Team NXT Qualifying Match)

A quick shoving match, Briggs with the goozle, Borne slips out, side headlock, body blows, shot off, shoulder block, Josh shoves him, forehead-to-forehead, duck under, uppercut, back suplex connects! Myles off the ropes, sliding lariat, cover for two! To the floor, Borne off the ropes, tope con giro connects!

Back inside, Myles off the top, diving crossbody, cover for two! Back and forth, big laright from Briggs and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Borne with an enzuigiri, back body drop puts him on the apron, up top, Briggs piefaces him and cuts him off, jockeying for position, Myles perches, jumps, nobody home, roll through, Rock Bottom backbreaker sets up the butterfly backbreaker… NO DEAL! Borne snap scoop powerslam for two, float over a slam, Josh with an elbow, Myles snaps off a Saito suplex!

Codebreaker follows, big boot, both men are down and out! Briggs gets a chain out of his pants, Matt Cardona appears out of nowhere to stop him from using it, Borne with a dropkick…

Myles Borne wins by pinfall with a jumping side Russian legsweep, earning a spot on Team NXT at Showdown next week.

Backstage, Jordynne Grace is chatting with Kelani Jordan and says she hopes she carries the Knockouts title with pride and would much rather be teaming with her than with Jacy Jayne.

Kelani says that’s the problem with her and Joe is nobody knows where they stand. Grace asks if she means Joe Hendry and say his name and he appears.

Before he can say much, Mike Santana rolls up and says they both have one foot in and one out and he’s not counting on either of them. He asks Jordan if her team is ready and she says she’s close, and he tells her he has people for her to meet.

Jordynne tells Joe that they have to be part of Showdown somehow.

Lola Vice makes her entrance to send us to break.

Fallon Henley vs. Lola Vice (Team NXT Qualifying Match)

Collar and elbow, Henley shoves her and mocks her shimmy, Vice takes her down, quick covers, armbar, Fallon backs her into the corner but Lola decks her! Front kick, whip reversed, back elbow from Henley, go-behind, mat slam, kick connects, cover for two. Vice with kicks in the corner, whip across, big back elbow, Jacy Jayne runs interference, Lola backs Fallon into the corner with strikes, Henley sidesteps the charge, gets Vice in the ropes, elbow to the kidneys and a sliding German suplex connects!

Elbow from the floor, back inside, sliding forearm, Fallon feeling herself, whip to the corner, pass Lola into the corner, snapmare, running facebuster, cover for two! Vice with Speedball kicks, Henley falls to the floor but pulls the ring skirt out from under Lola to trip her up! Back inside, off the ropes, Vice nails her…

Lola Vice wins by pinfall with a backfist, qualifying for Team NXT.

We get a hype reel for Crown Jewel in Australia and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Darkstate get their own promo about the title-for-title match against the Hardy Boyz, saying of course that they’re gonna win.

Commentary hypes up next week’s show.

Backstage, Jacy Jayne apologizes to Fallon Henley for putting her in a tough situation and Lainey Reid rolls up.

They give her guff for not being cleared but she takes credit for being the masked woman who helped Jacy retain the title.

Je’Von Evans makes his entrance to send us to break.

Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater vs. the Culling (Niko Vance & Shawn Spears)

Spears and Slater to start, Leon getting a quick advantage, big kick sets up mounted punches in the corner, heel kick lays Shawn out, tag to Vance! Slater slips out, big dropkick, Niko in the corner, tag to Evans! In with right hands, Arabian press Frankensteiner, big dropkick right on the button!

At ringside, Izzi Dame hurls abuse at Tatum Paxley, babyface team taking control, German suplex takes Spears out, stereo dives, feeling bouncy and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Vance has Slater locked down in a full nelson, Leon breaks out, crawling, Black Magic clocks Niko on the jaw and he tags Evans in! Je’Von clears the apron, whip reversed, suicide dive right onto Spears and over the desk! Back to the apron, kick Vance’s face in, springboard forearm, rebound spinning kick for Shawn!

Off the top, frog splash connects… NOT ENOUGH! Corner headstand, Niko with a boot, big slam, cover for two! Double suplex, Je’Von tags out, passing the Culling to the floor, Leon comes in, Evans pulls the rope down low and he wipes the Culling out with a dive! Back inside, tossing Blue Thunder Driver… VANCE BREAKS IT UP!

Match breaking down, all four men down and out, springboard caught, Evans lands on his feet, Slater springboard double Ace Crusher and the same from Je’Von! Off the ropes, big dive on Niko, Leon off the top…

Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater win by pinfall with a 450 splash from Slater on Shawn Spears.

We see the TNA roster rolling up to the parking lot, half of them in a Cybertruck for some godawful reason.

The NXT locker room meets them and tensions rise as we go to break.

Back from commercial, the two locker rooms have made their way into the arena for the NXT/TNA Summit.

Ava Raine and Santino Marella are in the ring with the two sets of team captains and also TNA World Heavyweight Champion Trick Williams.

Raine talks up the matches for next week and wants to make it official–

Williams says he’s been doing some thinking and as co-captain, he selects– Ricky Saints says he’s not co-captain, he’s just riding shotgun, and the team will be himself, Trick, Je’Von Evans, and Myles Borne.

Santino tells Mike Santana to announce the TNA team, and he says they got a locker room full of men who’d like to turn this place upside down, but the three soldiers he’s choosing, are true TNA OG Frankie Kazarian, three-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion Moose, and last but not least, the man who’s been setting TNA on fire, the TNA X-Division Champion, Leon Slater.

Jacy Jayne has something to say to Kelani Jordan before team-picking happens, and that’s that when she was Knockouts Champion, she still repped NXT and as far as she’s concerned, Kelani is nothing more than a two-timing traitor.

Jayne announces her team as the only double-champ left in the building, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, and last, someone she knows very well, from personal experience she knows she’s the hardest hitter in the division, Lola Vice.

Jordan says she accepts all responsibilies as Knockouts Champion, even if that means going against NXT, but especially if it means shutting Jacy up. For her team, she picks Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee, the Iinspiration. For the final member, someone she shared a locker room with who has something prove and a chip on her shoulder, Jakara– she means Mara Sade!

Santana says next Tuesday TNA is gonna win Showdown the same way he’s bringing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship back home where it belongs at Bound for Glory.

A brawl breaks out between the assembled rosters.

“Heartbreak Man” Shawn Michaels makes his way to the stage to enjoy the chaos.

That’s the show, folks.
