WWE Hall of Famer JBL works an angle with the former Velveteen Dream at indie show

A cross-promotional storyline that started in the middle of last year before seemingly being killed in January of this year may have re-emerged on an independent promotion yesterday (Nov. 2).

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield made appearances at GCW, AAA, and several TNA shows in support of a storyline he says was to culminate at TNA’s Slammiversary. An unnamed former TNA official allegedly nixed the program ahead of that July PPV, and we haven’t heard much about it — or seen JBL in a wrestling setting — since.

But that changed yesterday (Nov. 2) in a Baltimore suburb at Maryland Championship Wrestling’s Autumn Armageddon Dundalk show. After Patrick Clark, formerly known as WWE NXT’s Velveteen Dream, defeated Javari Wolf, JBL arrived to crash the party. Layfield took out someone celebrating with Clark in the ring (I believe it’s MCW champ Joe Keys) with a punch, then delivered a Clothesline from Hell to Clark.
