Okonkwo made his debut for the Super Eagles in Tuesday night’s Unity Cup semi-final clash against the Zimbabwe national football team.

Millwall winger Femi Azeez scored twice as Nigeria secured a comfortable 2-0 victory.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper was a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up, getting the nod ahead of the more experienced Francis Uzoho.

Although he had little action in the first half, Okonkwo produced an impressive save with 20 minutes remaining to preserve his clean sheet.

Wrexham celebrated the goalkeeper’s performance in a post on their official X account.
