Woman Dies After Liposuction Surgery In Turkey

A 59-year-old Italian businesswoman, Milena Mancini, has tragically passed away on October 20th in the intensive care unit of Istanbul ISU Medical Park Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital.

According to reports, Milena had been hospitalized for 20 days following an abdominal liposuction procedure at a private clinic in Istanbul.

It was revealed that she had traveled from Italy to Turkey in September with one of her daughters to undergo the cosmetic surgery. However, just 36 hours after the operation, she began to experience severe abdominal pain, which led to her being urgently admitted to the hospital’s ICU.

Speaking to Italian media, her uncle, Luigi Di Palma said: “During the operation, she suffered a complication and appears to have contracted an infection at the clinic.”
Luigi also revealed that when Milena went in for the procedure, none of her family members were aware of it.

Luigi added: “None of us in the family knew anything about it – we didn’t even know Milena had gone to Turkey for this cosmetic procedure, so it came as a real shock.

“She and her husband didn’t want us to worry.”

Sadly, her condition worsened, and she passed away shortly after. Before her death, Milena had been running her own real estate agency, following several years of experience as a financial consultant. Her company had even opened a new branch in Frosinone just weeks before the ill-fated trip.

Milena is survived by her husband, Umberto, her daughters Alice and Juditta, her father Alvaro, and her sisters Rita and Sara.
