Mark Wood worked as a burglar alarm fitter.

The pair eventually lived together in the family’s luxurious £400,000 home in Goff’s Oak, Hertfordshire.

Mark asked Victoria to marry him in 1994.

This was just after she auditioned to be in the Spice Girls.

Despite not being married, the singer began calling herself Victoria Adams Wood and the name was even used on early Spice Girls merchandise.

The pair were together for six years before deciding to part ways.

Mark was reportedly heartbroken at the time over the split but despite the pair parting ways, he wished her all the best.

He told The People in 1997: “It was a very special relationship. But that part of my life is over.

“It’s sad because we were together for a long time. But she’s got what she always wanted and I’m proud of her.”

However, the electrician was reportedly unhappy after Victoria’s comments she made about him in ITV documentary, Being Victoria.

She said: “For some reason we got engaged. He was an alarm engineer.

“If only he’d stayed in that cupboard that I met him in at my mum’s house.”

Getting his own back, Mark later claimed she “went like an express train” and said: “The boobs she’s got now are certainly not the ones she had back then.”

A Channel 5 spokesperson said at the time: “As they always say, revenge is a dish best-served cold.

“Mark has never spoken before in public about his relationship with Victoria but feels it is time to set the record straight.

“Mark was quite hurt by what she said and doesn’t intend to spare Victoria’s blushes.”

Victoria went on to start dating former football star David Beckham and just 10 months later they announced their engagement.

The couple married in 1999 and welcomed their first child, Brooklyn, 25, later that same year.

They have now been married for 25 years and are parents to Brooklyn, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and 13 year old Harper.
