The situation in Shendam is about the youths protesting a purported planned coronation of an Emir in Shandam, this according to them is out of the line as shendam was never conquered and all traditional stools must be in tandem with the local tradition of the goemai People.

According to reports the youth stormed out in the early early hours of yesterday to barricade all roads in shadam, the Long Goemai Palace was visited while Muslims faithfuls were hindered from performing their Juma'at prayers.

A curfew has been imposed on the town to forestall an escalation of the situation.
