Bundesliga side Werder Bremen have registered strong interest in signing Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi ahead of the January transfer window.

Awoniyi has endured a difficult campaign at Forest, struggling for regular minutes under manager Sean Dyche. The Nigeria international has fallen behind Chris Wood and Igor Jesus in the striking hierarchy and has made only four Premier League appearances this season.

The 28-year-old’s situation became even more uncertain after he was excluded from Forest’s UEFA Europa League squad, further fueling speculation about a potential exit.

According to Africafoot, Werder Bremen are prepared to make a move for the former Union Berlin striker in January. Nottingham Forest are also understood to be open to a sale if a suitable offer arrives.

Awoniyi is reportedly attracting additional interest, with two unnamed Premier League clubs and several Championship sides monitoring his availability.
