Werder Bremen manager Horst Steffen has once again voiced his frustration over Nigeria international Victor Boniface’s underwhelming form following their 1-1 draw with Mainz on Saturday.

Boniface, who joined Bremen on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, struggled to make any real impact in the game and received a low rating of 5 from Bild for his performance.

The Super Eagles striker failed to register a shot on target, made no assists, and completed just 53 percent of his passes with only 28 touches throughout the match.

Speaking after the encounter, Steffen told Bild: “He tried to hold onto the ball up front. Today I thought to myself: Come on, he can do even better.”

Boniface has so far managed only one assist in seven league appearances for Werder Bremen this season.
