Former South Yorkshire miner David Turton has welcomed the recent rise in pensions for NUM scheme members, which will see some former miners receive around £100 extra per week.However, Mr Turton said more needs to be done to ensure future surpluses automatically benefit pensioners and criticised politicians for being out of touch with everyday people’s needs.He said: "There is no common sense left in the government. There's no common sense.
