Ghanaian musician and multiple award winner Okyeame Kwame has weighed in on the debate surrounding the recent passage of the anti-LGBT+ bill by the Ghanaian Parliament.

During a panel discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz program on Saturday, March 9, 2024, Okyeame Kwame revealed that the page of the bill that seeks to criminalize the activities of LGBTQ+ people is of little concern to him because he feels that is the least of Ghana’s problems currently.

He added that while the bill is of little concern to him, the one thing he finds strange to understand is why the bill is supposedly criminalizing BJ (bl0w j0b).

The “Sika” singer questioned how a wife giving her husband BJ related to LGBT+ issues and why the bill that was approved by the Ghanaian Parliament on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, would seek to make it illegal.

When the show host, MzGee asked why he was so concerned about that part of the bill and nothing else, the rap dacta hilariously said that he was only bringing out the concerns of the BJ association in Ghana.

The anti-gay bill, under the provisions of the bill, has portions that state that those who take part in LGBTQ sexual acts could face imprisonment ranging from six months to three years.

The bill also imposes a prison sentence of three to five years for the “wilful promotion, sponsorship, or support of LGBTQ+ activities”.
