The number of international pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah has recorded significant growth this season, with total arrivals exceeding 1.27 million, according to figures announced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Pilgrim Experience Program.

Umrah visa arrivals increased by 22.5% during the period from the beginning of the season on Dhul Hijjah 15 through the end of Muharram, highlighting continued growth in the number of Muslims traveling to the Kingdom to perform Umrah.

International Umrah Arrivals Exceed 1.27 Million

According to the announced figures, more than 1.27 million international pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia for Umrah during the reporting period.

The number of arrivals on Umrah visas increased by 22.5%, supported by continued improvements to services for pilgrims and stronger coordination among government entities and organizations involved in the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem.

The growth comes as Saudi Arabia continues to enhance the pilgrim journey, from initial travel planning through arrival, performance of rituals and eventual departure.

75% of Pilgrims Arrived by Air

Air travel accounted for the largest share of international Umrah arrivals, with 75% of pilgrims entering the Kingdom by air.

The figure highlights the importance of international aviation connectivity in facilitating access for millions of Muslims traveling from around the world.

Saudi authorities continue to develop digital and operational services aimed at simplifying procedures and improving the overall efficiency of the Umrah journey.

Pakistan Leads International Umrah Arrivals

Pakistan recorded the highest number of Umrah pilgrims during the period, with approximately 200,000 arrivals.

Indonesia ranked second with around 170,000 pilgrims, followed by Iraq with approximately 130,000.

The figures reflect strong demand for Umrah travel from some of the world’s largest Muslim populations as the Kingdom continues to expand services and improve accessibility for international pilgrims.

Continued Development of the Umrah Ecosystem

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said efforts will continue to improve digital accessibility and operational efficiency across the Umrah system.

The objective is to provide pilgrims with a more convenient and high-quality experience throughout every stage of their journey — from planning their visit and traveling to Saudi Arabia to performing Umrah and departing the Kingdom.
