Ferrari‘s iconic Italian car designers built the revolutionary GTS by hand in the 60s when it was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, alongside with the 275 GTB.

It has a Colombo-designed V-12 engine and a remarkable 260 horsepower.

Top speeds on the convertible saw it glide way past 150mph in its heyday.

Now it sits looking pretty in the garage of a “meticulous car enthusiast” waiting for a new buyer.

The stripped back motor comes in a clean shade of turquoise and has all the well-known features of a classic 60s motor from the headlights to the exhaust pipes.

Inside, a glossy wooden steering wheel sits branded with the iconic Ferrari logo front and centre.

Matching turquoise seats and side panels are paired up expertly with black and silver trim.

Out of the 200 cars produced, the elegant one up for sale later this year was the 29th ever built making it super-rare.

A meticulous restoration job got underway in Italy back in 2008 by car specialists Quality Cars and GPS Classic.

They set about on a mission to bring the motor back to competition level condition for its owner at the time.

All of the work on the car was well documented and even managed to get the Ferrari Classiche certificate of approval.

An extensive dossier of the restoration plan has also been compiled by DK Engineering which will be handed over to the future owner.

And despite the cars old age it only has 1,969miles on the clock.

After returning to its blistering best the car was exhibited at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in 2009.

The auction is set to take place on June 8, at the Monaco Car Auctions’ L’Astarossa sale.

Due to it being a genuine piece of Ferrari history the car is estimated to fetch between £1.2 million and £1.5 million when it goes under the hammer.

The listing says: “The car was also displayed at the prestigious Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance in 2009.

“Owned by a meticulous enthusiast, this 275 GTS has been well maintained and stored in a dedicated car storage facility.

“After falling in love with it, all that’s left is for you to choose the events you’ll participate in with it!”

It comes as another super special BMW dubbed “The Batmobile” is set to go up at auction for a whopping £180,000, later this year.

Despite setting back any new owner a lot of cash, the vintage race car is truly a thing of beauty and comes with an illustrious history in the famous Le Mans competition.

And a 1972 Ferrari 246GT Dino Project that was wrecked in a fire and left burnt to bits has now been put up for sale for a whopping £120,000.

Sadly, buyers will only be getting a shell of the motor due to the fire.
